Children ages 5-14 are invited to join us for 4 weeks of daytime summer fun in 2025!

This summer, we will ignite your potential by practicing the power of problem-solving, collaboration, creativity, and thinking differently. We will cultivate a culture of communication, kindness, and empathy and encourage you to use your unique voice to make a positive impact. By nurturing curiosity and resilience, we can help ourselves and others to overcome challenges and become the leaders of tomorrow.

Join us for a 1 week Trip to Oaxaca, Mexico!
Rube Goldberg Wacky Workshop
You have the creative and intellectual power to make machines work by harnessing potential and kinetic energy! Grab your notebook, collect some odds and ends from the junk drawer and your toy shelf, roll up your sleeves, and prepare to tinker, design, and collaborate on some MasterSchool RubeGoldberg Machines! Unleash your inner engineer as we explore the wonders of simple machines and make weird parts work together in wacky ways. From marble madness to extreme domino effects, there’s nothing more satisfying than the moment your Rube Goldberg Machine completes its task successfully!

Trash to Treasure - Maker Art Class
Explore your power of transformation and collaboration by turning discarded items into works of art. You will experiment with recycled materials, challenging yourselves to create beautiful and interesting pieces of art while minimizing our ecological footprint. From collage to sculpture, you will rework materials in the style of various upcycling artists and develop the ability to see beauty where others might not. We’ll turn plastic bags into people like the upcycle artist, Khalil Chistee; turn sticks and other found bits into cities like Kim JIhwan; and turn wires and tech waste into robots and animals like Gregory Arth. This class will demonstrate how there is power in your perspective!

Travel to Oaxaca, Mexico with MasterSchool in 2025

In 2025, MasterSchool is pleased to announce the return of a treasured MasterSchool tradition, MasterSchool Trips!
This year MasterSchool will whisk away a small group of MasterSchool kids and/or families to Oaxaca, Mexico where we’ll live with a Mexican family (Gustavo’s brother and his family in their AirBnB) and study Spanish! Our friend and
Spanish teacher, Manuel Reyes,* who was born in a Zapotec village in the mountains of the southern Sierra of Oaxaca, will be our guide.
Sunday June 29 to Sunday July 6
Manuel has planned lots of authentic Oaxacan activities for us! With Manuel’s two kids, we’ll dance the folkloric Oaxacan dance called “Pinotepa Nacional,” we’ll create Oaxacan chocolate, Oaxacan pottery, and the famous brightly painted carved wooden figures, known as “Alebrijes Oaxaqueños.”
Manuel’s mom will teach us how to make tortillas. (No one has to teach us how to eat them!). Gustavo’s sister-in-law will teach the grown-ups how to make the famous Oaxacan mole.

* Manuel will also join us this summer as a counselor/teacher. We’ll organize a planning get-together for those who are going on the trip to Oaxaca.
